About the job
As a Chef / Sous Chef at Harbor Restaurant, you play a key role in our daily kitchen operations and in delivering consistent, high-quality dishes for both restaurant service and events. You take responsibility on the floor during service, support and guide the kitchen team where needed, and work closely with front-of-house to ensure smooth communication and service flow. In this hands-on role, you help maintain strong standards for food safety, hygiene, and presentation, support menu execution and specials, and contribute to a professional, efficient, and positive kitchen culture—directly enhancing our guests’ dining experience.
The position
Take responsibility for your work area and assigned tasks during service
Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and timing of dishes
Supervise and support commis and junior kitchen staff
Assist with menu execution and contribute to daily specials
Monitor stock levels and support ordering, and waste control
Ensure hygiene, food safety, and kitchen standards
Support mise en place and smooth service flow
Contribute to a positive and professional kitchen culture
About you
Proven experience as a Chef or Sous Chef, or strong line cook ready to step up
Passion for food quality, consistency, and presentation
Able to work clean, structured, and under pressure
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
Proactive, reliable, and hands-on attitude
Willing to learn and grow within the kitchen team
Flexible to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Fluent in English; Dutch, Spanish and Papiamentu are a plus
